Help showing dress

I posted some time ago that I was going to wear my great-great grandma dress but I've decided not doing it and instead having a new one, custom made reproducing some deatails of the original dress.
Since I love the dress I would like to have it showed (I don't really mind it being the rehearsal or the actual wedding) with the story behind it and some  other accesories but I'm not sure where
to put it or when sonce I'm concerned it would get stained or ripped.
Any ideas?

Re: Help showing dress

  • If you can't stomach the thought of the dress being damaged, I would not display it at the reception.  You could, however, think about having some pictures of your grandmother and the dress at the wedding.  You could also, if the host of your shower is amenable, consider working the story of the dress into the decor of the shower.

  • I agree with PP display photos of your grandmother in the dress if you want it to be displayed.
  • I have no idea what the dress looked like, but could you use it as an exit dress?

I saw a girl once who took her mom's wedding dress and had it completely cut up to make a cute short exit dress.
  • Thanks for the ideas! I don't have actual photos of her with the dress but I gues I could just put a photo of the dress with the story of it and another photo of her.
About using the gown, I originally thought it but I'm scared of ripping it since it's about 100 years old.
