Need a Wedding Band for Emerald Cut ring

Hi All!

Need some help. My fiance bought be an absolutely beautiful Emerald Cut engagement ring with 2 trapezoidal diamonds on the side and small diamonds down the band (I just wanted a simple solitaire, but I absolutely love my ring!!) The issue is trying to find a wedding band. Some rings that are similar to mine can have a normal band next to it; however, mine is not straight on the sides, the setting sits out farther so I cannot find a band to fit. I am afraid I will have to get a custom made band that fits/molds up against my ring.

Does anyone else have a ring like this?

This is a link to a ring that looks ALMOST exactly like mine...I have a VERY skinny band.

Can anyone help me with this? Also, if you have a ring similar, have you tried normal bands with a gap between, did you get your rings soddered(sp)  together (another thing I am not fond of doing)

Thanks for your help!!!!! 4 more months here!!!

  • have you looked into those enhancer bands?
  • I think this is what I'm going to have to lean towards...unfortunately I think it's going to have to be a custom one. I've tried the curved/concaved ones but it just looks so ugly.
Nothing will fit underneath the setting I don't think an enhancer will work because it will all be visible.
  • I have a round diamond in a square setting, and I'm leaning towards getting something custom. I've heard it's really not much more than buying a regular ring.

  • hi Danielle,
I'm a gemologist and very familiar with trying to find wedding bands to fit. First off, I would like to respond to soldering rings.
Gold is a soft metal. If you always wear both rings, it is highly recommended that you solder them. The rubbing together will eventually weaken your setting or damage your engagement ring.
For the wedding band, it's possible to put a white gold band on either side, notched to fit your setting. This puts all the emphasis on the beauty of your emerald cut diam eng ring, which I absolutely love, by the way. You can add a channel set anniversary ring below the plain band as well.
      Hope this helps. Kiki
  • If you do have to go for a custom band, don't worry. It doesn't have to be too expensive. We've seen a few jewelers from http://www.gatheringguide.com and there prices aren't too bad.
