"Flattering Me" Untergarments

Has anyone worn the Flattering Me custom long line bra?  I am considering ordering one (Mine will have to be a special order because my hip measurements are larger than the ones corresponding with my bra size on their fit chart).  I am a plus size, and just want some reviews from others (plus size or not) that have worn this.  It's a lot of money to spend, and probably not be able to return it if I don't like it.  Other recommendations welcome, too!
Their website is flattering dot com.

Thanks

  • I can't really help with the Flattering custom line bra, but alternatively, if you would want to spend less you can always get a regular bustier and buy a bra-extender which attaches to your regular bustier and adds up to 4 hooks in width and thus increases the length of your bra. I think it's called Bra Extension, maybe this helps.

  • I just suggested the Flattering Me bra on another post - I like mine a lot but I think I should have gone down a size (I got my bra size - 32D, and petite - but my girls are natural so they kind of cantilever the front of the bra forward). It fits right with the removable pads in.

I got mine in the bridal store run by the guy who invented the bra (I didn't realize that was the case when I went in, but their website said they had all the sizes in stock, guaranteed).

I wore it dress shopping and it was actually pretty comfortable and I felt securely lifted. The only problem I had was trying to put it on myself - there are about ten rows of hooks and you definitely need an extra set of hands to hook them!

I have to wear a very low-backed bridesmaid dress and I know this bra will work out perfectly.

On the other hand, with the dress I bought (a Maggie Sotterod destination weddings dress), the saleswoman suggested having my tailor sew cups in. So if your dress has enough boning and structure, maybe that would be an option for you too?
  • Scrabtree- thanks for the first-hand review!  My dress actually has very little boning (if any at all) which is why I'm looking for a long line bra to help keep everything up and in the right place for the day.  I have heard that there is a bridal salon in my area that carries the line, but i'm not sure how extensive their selection is...guess I'll have to check it out.

SteffiC- thanks for the suggestion!  I actually hadn't thought of that...i do have some of the extenders already, so maybe I'll bring one with me when i go out shopping for my undergarments to see if it feels like it will work for me.
