When is your wedding? They say you should have 6 months to have it order. I went in Janurary for a June wedding and the gal was freaking out saying some dresses neded an express on them (which means extra money). I'd say start looking - I started trying on dresses long before I actually crunch down to it.

I work at a bridal salon and the slowest times are during the week before 5pm (while people are at work) When is the wedding? We reccomend ladies purchase their dress 7-9 months before the wedding (which I know seems like a long time, but all these dresses are made overseas)

    Good luck!

  • If you are going to a store like David's Bridal, you can buy dresses right off the rack or they will locate it at another store out of state if not found near you. A lot of stores have to place orders though and say it can take at least six months to order. I had to pay a rush on my dress because the normal shipping time was six months. All and all, it really depends on what type of store you go to and how particular you about a designer or dress. I went to a few stores that offered to sell the sample dress while others would not. Good luck with finding your dress!
