MADE DRESS GONE WRONG!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

So, the dress that I was having made looked like something from a high school home economics class.  The wedding is 8/28/10 and this woman had been working on it since the fall.  There has been little progress with the dress taking shape.  It was supposed to be almost done on FRIDAY but wasn't.  I hit the stores yesterday and I found one, but it needs to be ordered.  They probably won't get it in the store until July.  I looked online found same dress, cheaper.  It will take about 6 weeks to get here.  Is that enough time to get it tailored?  Does anyone know of a good tailor around the Concord-Manchester area?

Who was making the original dress? I would hate to have the same thing happen to someone else.

I don't know of any tailors, but good luck and I hope it all works out. I'm sorry you had to go through this!

I would recommend the seamstress from A Day to Remember in Concord, NH. I have heard nothing but great things about her.

Oh that is awful! I would also say try A Day To Remember - she is independent of the salon, but I have heard wonderful things about her and plan to have her take in my dress which I purchased from A Day To Remember.

Thanks ladies.  I ordered a dress last night from Modern Bride.  They say it will be here by the first week of July.  I will try your suggestions about a tailor. Thanks for the support.
