I ordered my dress a long time ago, because I was originally going to get married last June. I ordered the dress in August, it did not come in until late May (mind you, my wedding was June 11 at this time). When I went to the dress shop to pick it up, I realized they had ordered the wrong size. I ordered a size 12 (which was clearly written on the order form), but the dress was a size 10. The people at the shop assured me that if I lost 5 pounds, it would fit easily. They also assured me there was plenty of room to take the dress out. I am now 3 months out from my wedding, have been on a strict diet, have lost 5 pounds, and the dress STILL does not fit.
Because of the shop's mess-up, they promised me free alterations. Apparently, the shop messed up LOTS of peoples' dresses and stole money from people (of course, I didn't know any of this when I bought my dress there), and has since closed down. Therefore, I cannot take the dress back or cash in on the free alterations because of their mistake.
Is there anything that I can do at this point? I know there is obviously nothing the dress shop can do. The dress is Allure, do you think they would be willing to do anything at all to help? I am going to a seamstress tomorrow to see what they've been told, but I am just worried that even if it's let out, it won't be big enough.
