Bolero/ Jacket? yes, no?

Has anyone worn a bolero jacket thing? It looks interesting....

Re: Bolero/ Jacket? yes, no?

  • I personally do not like them, but that is just me
  • I wear boleros on a frequent basis but with wedding gowns I think they make you look matronly.

The satin boleros do look MOBish but what about these:

Or the angora one worn by Kate Middleton?
  • I really don't care for boleros with wedding dresses.

Can you share your dress with us so we can see how it might look with a bolero?  Those are better, but I'm not sold yet.
  • I'm not a big fan of boleros.  I agree with the comment that they look matronly.  I also think that short sleeves (which most boleros have), often hit at the widest part of the arm and therefore make the arm look fatter than it is.

I didn't wear a bolero, I wore a halter dress and a long mantila with lace that I used to cover my arms and back for the ceremony. Not much coverage but it gave me a sense of being less exposed. A veil with more layers would have given better coverage obviously.
Then after pictures at the reception I wore a pretty short sweater (beading and soutache) and no veil.
