bridesmaids -- clutch vs wristlet

My ladies are carrying a bag instead of flowers.. I figured that could double-duty as part of their "gifts."

Now, I'm looking at Esty and there are a lot of different sizes....
I feel that a wristlet would be too small, but what size do you think would work best? I want something significant especially because they aren't carrying flowers, but I don't want it to be obnoxiously huge and a burden to have to carry.

Re: bridesmaids -- clutch vs wristlet

  • i'd go with a clutch...for the sheer reason that you can fit more than 2 things in them =)
  • First, this should not be considered their gift.  Anything that they have to use for the wedding is for you and your pictures, not for them.

A gift should be something that is tailored to their likes and hobbies.  Shop for them like it is their birthday or Christmas.  Would you really give all of these friends the same exact clutch for Christmas?  I doubt it.

As for which they should carry, I prefer a clutch.  They look more elegant to me then a wristlet.

  • I was going to put sweet @ss brooches on each girls bag.... we're all horse-y so some dope "cowgirl bling" would be GREAT and I am confident they will enjoy it forever. I feel perfectly comfortable having it as part of their gifts.
I will go with the official clutch size. Thanks ladies!

It is great that you think they will love them but It still should not be considered their gift because you are requiring them to use it in your wedding.  We get many brides on here who want to use the jewerly that they are purchasing for their BMs to wear on the wedding day as their "gift".  This is not a gift it is part of the BM wedding day apparel.  Or sometimes we get brides who think that it would be a good idea for a gift if they pay for hair and makeup and their shoes.  Again these are things that are for the wedding and most likely for the bride herself so she has pretty pictures to look back on.

Also, having identical BM gifts, in my opinion, are rude because it shows that you didn't put much thought or effort into something special for your nearest and dearest and just did something that was easy.
