I have found a dress I LOVE on a vintage dress store's website. The store is in CA and I am in MN so the only option. I am excited about ordering the dress... and I am going to wait until summer but what if I need to get it altered? I wouldn't even know where to go for alterations if I didn't buy it from a specific bridal shop. Any ideas?

ask around your local board, find an independent seamstress to do it. I hear they are usually cheaper and often do better work.

I agree with asking around to find a local seamstress.  I did and it was a lot cheaper than using a bridal salon.  The girls on your local board should have some recommendations for you.

That's what I'm doing. I found an independent seamstress and she's doing the alterations on both my and the bridesmades dresses.
