Afternoon or evening reception?

Are you having an afternoon or evening reception?
I guess I am just curious which is the more popular choice.

Evening. The ceremony begins at 5 and the reception at 6:30.

We're having an evening reception.  We had to wait until Sat. afternoon mass to have the ceremony, so it will be late.

We also had an evening wedding.  Reception started at 6:30.  In my experience, evening weddings are more of a party.  Personally, I'm more willing to dance at 7pm than 2pm.  Does that make snese?  HTH!

We had an afternoon wedding because of the schedule at the church, we had ceremony at 12 and reception from 130 - 630

We are having a 11:30 ceremony and the reception is from 1:30 - 6:30

Afternoon...Ceremony and Reception are at the same place.  We have an 11 a.m. ceremony with the reception immediately following

Evening.  I have people traveling and I'm not a fan of early weddings.  I need my time in the morning and afternoon to work myself up for functions.  I also don't like when lights are on during the entire reception and at a lot of places I viewed during the day there was way too much light in the rooms from windows than I would like.  To me the darker the better (people party more imo)

Mine is a bit of both/ Late afternoon/early evening My ceremony is at 4p and reception is 5-10p. This way I figured we could use the light, have some dark, and then go out for drinks afterwards!

Our ceremony is at 4 pm and the reception will be from 5-10 pm.

we had a morning wedding (11am) with a luncheon starting at 1230.  this was great for us, as we had many guests who traveled from abotu 2 horus away.  this allowed them to come for the day and not incur hotel expenses.  we also didnt invite children, so it was much easier for the parents to come and find a sitter for the day than someone to stay overnight with their kids.  all of the parents were home in time for dinner and/or bathtime with their kids.

also, it just made sense financially. saturday evening weddings are always more expensive.
