about guys attire for wedding

HI Y'ALL!WE ARE DOING A MORE CASUAL WEDDING & THE GUYS ARE ALL WEARING DRESS KHAKIS,A TIE TO MATCH THE GIRLS,& A BUTTON DOWN WHITE DRESS SHIRT. I WANT TO STILL DO BOUTENIERRE'S BUT SOME FAMILY IS TELLING ME THAT IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE SINCE THEY ARE NOT WEARING TUXES. I DIDN'T KNOW IF ANY OTHER BRIDE TO BE WAS DOING THIS SAME ATTIRE FOR THE GROOM AND GROOMSMEN & IF HAVING THEM WEAR ONE,LOOKED OKAY WITHOUT A JACKET OVER IT & IF IT STAYED PINNED ON? THANKS GUYS. I AM MEETING WITH MY FLORIST NEXT WEEK & WANT A LITTLE HELP :)

Re: about guys attire for wedding

  • I think the question is "Is this a special occasion, or not?"

If so - dress up for it! If it's not worth dressing up for, then just let the guys come dressed however they want to.

    There's formal - Tuxes

    There's semi-formal - Suits.

There's casual - Pretty much "come as you are", which is the way that people dress, usually in everyday attire. The message if you're not having anyone dress up for the wedding - "The occasion isn't really important enough to dress up for".

    Don't fret over #3. What's the point?
