oooooo....I love that!!!  Are you sure it wouldn't work with your gown? 

The neckline on my gown is so high, with a prominant ruffle, that I need a necklace that won't get dwarfed.  That one sure wouldn't!!

I don't have a dress yet, but it wouldn't match our theme at all Maybe for the reception though....now you've got me thinking!

EmmieW, click on the link for my bio. I made myself a clunky/chunky/funky necklace to wear with my reception gown, which is not pictured, but has a v-neck halter top. I bought a bunch of inexpensive necklaces at places like Forever 21, Pac Sun, etc, and re-worked them into something that feels right for the dress I'll be wearing.

Because of the neckline on your dress, it will be hard to come up with something that will really stand out. The more glitz and bling, the better. All I did was use one "master" necklace, and add different parts to it from the others. All you need is a pair of jewelry pliers. It's in Photo Gallery under DIY items.

i am doing pearls but not because they are traditional but because they are on my dress. but my necklace that i am wearing is a bow with swarovski crystals on it and then 2 pearls hang down from it. 

but you should wear what you want (as long as it looks good) it is your wedding!!!

My earrings were definitely unique. I absolutely loved them, and I still wear them all the time!

I am wearing pawn style turquoise jewelry. Since I grew up in the Southwest I have always loved turquoise and I feel it's more me than pearls. I also think it adds a fun edge to my look as well as color!

I'm all for funky, statement jewelry.  That said, I think your dress would look fabulous with a chunky bracelet and some standout earrings. I would leave the neckline bare, so as to not detract from the power of the collar.  That collar is *amazing* and I feel like adding a huge statement piece around the neck will muddy the look.

Tanq...thanks for the suggestion about the neckline...I was thinking the same thing.  It would have to be a HUGE piece to balance the ruffle, but maybe just some outstanding earrings and a funky bracelet will do....

Sooo I thought about it, and I realize I might wear my mom's necklace. It's pearls, but they're pink and gorgeous and it looks like this
