Shoes, how hard could it be?

I am a shoe lover (as many of you probably are), so when it comes down to finding shoes for my wedding dress I thought this would be my favorite and easiset part. How could I be so wrong?!?! My future mister is only a couple inches taller then me so heels are out of the question (very sad because there are so many cute options) and the ceremony is outdoors so the grass would have made it a little more challenging. I love flip flops but I'm not quite sold on the idea yet of wearing flip flops down the aisle. I was not prepared for the never ending search for the perfect wedding shoe and how difficult it would be to find flat shoes. We are getting married this summer and would welcome any suggestions that anyone has for a place to find flat shoes!
Thanks for your help in advance!

Re: Shoes, how hard could it be?

  • Why is it so important for you to be shorter than him?  Would you wear heels on any other given day?

Think outside the box on shoes.  So many people are in the mind that they have to have white shoes to match their dress.  If you look at pictures, you will find that A) shoes do not show up much in pictures, and B) many brides are going with fun and color and shoes they can wear again. Keep these things in mind as you are shopping, and you should find something that works.

  • I got two pairs at Payless. One pair to match my dress kinda. I am not sure what color my dress is exactly and wont see it for two weeks. But I got the shoes anyway they were 6$ when I bought them with my reception shoes. My reception shoes are hot pink and black leopard print flats because I have poor knees they can dislocate easily and I will be on a boat so heels are out of the question for me!
  • I got a pair of flat sandals from DSW. They're kinda "wedding-y" but also can be worn with anything afterwards. They were reasonably priced (under $50) and they're comfortable.I love them and can't wait to wear them! :)

  • I got my shoes at DSW too - very reasonable priced.  My ceremony is going to be on grass as well, so I went with a wedge heel sandal.  I know you said you don't want to be taller than your sweetie, but you can certainly find something with a low heel or even a ballet flat.

No one will even see your shoes - just make sure that you are comfortable!!!
  • I had the hardest time finding shoes, as I needed a small wedge heel, relatively casual, and a back strap since I'm getting married on the beach.  Yesterday I finally found the perfect Elie Tahari silver wedges at Marshall's!  Relief!! Try the discount stores :)
    Good luck!
  • I bought wedges for my outdoor ceremony and a pair of heels for the reception
