How Much for Shoes

How much did you spend on your wedding shoes or plan on spending?
Did you buy two pairs (one being more comfortable for the reception)?

Re: How Much for Shoes

  • Given that the groom is 14" taller than me, I bought a hideous pair of 5" heels (honestly, how can any pair of mildly comfortable 5" heels not be hideous? they look like hooker heels), which the groom, being French, I'm sure will despise. But who cares, they will be hidden under the gown!

Planning on buying a shorter, much cuter pair to go with a shorter dress for the reception.
  • I paid $145 for mine, but the are James Ciccotti shoes (local Chicago designer), and they are about 3" heels, white, and have a jem on them.  They are the most comforable heels I have EVER WORN!  This guy is amazing!  I can't say enough about him.  Anyone looking to buy nice, mildly reasonable shoes in the Chicago Area, check him out, he's on Clark Street by Fullerton!!!  He makes them in white, but wouldl be more than happy to dye the shoes different colors.  My wedding budget was so small, but when I spent $700 on my dress, which is an AMAZING Midgley & Sottero gown, I couldn't bear the thought of shoes I didn't love as well too.  ...And my Fiance is a good foot taller than me, so I didn't want to look rediculous next to him, lol

I paid $40 for a pair of Elie Tahari wedges at Marshalls.  They are pretty comfy and the only shoes I will need!  I recommend a wedge heel for comfort factor and looking around at discount department stores.
