red shoes?

My mom thinks everyone will freak out if I wear red shoes with my dress. What do you think?

I think it depends upon the dress.  I don't think you would want the color to detract from the dress, but with many dresses the shoes are only seem in glimpses when you INTEND for them to be seen.  Under a ball gown they would be great, under an ivory formal sheath where they would poke out with every step, not great.

Colored shoes are a new trend.  It's understandable that your mother would think that way but you do what you'd like.  If it eases her mind, just tell her that no one will see your shoes under your dress.

I agree that it depends on the dress.  Under a ball-gown or A-line where you only occasionally see the shoes, go for it!  I love colored shoes!

I LOVE colored shoes under wedding gowns and the pop of color! I just ordered my wedding shoes this weekend in color.

I think it's brilliant, but that's because I have red shoes for my ivory gown. I did get strappy sandals though so they won't be big chunks of distracting colour underneath given that the bottom of my gown is tulle and they may be more visible.

I'm wearing red shoes! The guests won't see them anyways unless you show them to them. My colours are red, black, and ivory, so that is why I chose red shoes.

I say wear the colour of shoes you want! It's your wedding day.

GO FOR IT!!!! Red is that amazing pop of color everyone will remember. Bridal shoes in white or ivory are stunning, but you will probably get to use them only once. If you're splurging on a pair of shoes for your wedding you might as well make it a pair you'll use over and over.
