La Sposa, Mirra

I purchased my dress :) It is La Sposa, and the dress is called Mirra. I absolutely love it. Did anyone else choose this dress? I am curious about how you are accessorizing!

Re: La Sposa, Mirra

  • Hi! I just purchased this dress for my Fall 2013 wedding yesterday.  I completely fell in love with the dress, but I will be changing it slightly.  I am having the brooch removed and a specialty vintage belt made for the dress.  I am also having buttons put on the back to give it a more vintage feel. I plan on wearing long earrings.  Although the dress has so many different materials already that it probably doesn't need much.  I am also using a bird cage veil that transforms into a headpiece that has a large flower for my hair during pictures and the reception.  What are you choosing to do?
  • Well at first I was going to add a train, because the actual train is not nearly as long as I had wanted. But after more thought I decided the added train was not worth the cost. I would have had to buy the fabric from the designer and then pay the seamtress to add a detachable train -- the cost was substancial. And my time in our chapel is limited to 45 minutes. So in the end, I am not doing the train, just leaving it as is. I decided to go with a plain cathdral veil instead.. I love the look, it really makes up for the shorter train.

I am doing a feather hairpiece for the recpetion after my veil comes off. I think that is my favorite part!!! Feather white shoes as well. I am not sure about jewlery. No necklace for sure, but I am between long and earrings or just large diamond studs. I will defiantely wear a diamond bracelet.

Also I am getting married in January of 2014, and we are having a winter wonderland theme. I am definately going to wear some kind of fur since it will be freezing and I want outdoor pics!!!!! When is your wedding?? I love that you are taking the dress and making it what you envisioned. I think of the dress as so couture and modern looking, I cannot wait to see it with a vintage look!!

  • Hi Ladies,

Do you have a photo of your updated dresses to share?  I would love to see how you transformed it.  I'm very interested in the mirrra but not so much with the brooch and I wasn't sure how the dress would turn out if you removed it.
