overstock.com???

so I was just looking on overstock.com to get ideas for my fiance's ring, but then i found one that i just loved...but it is only $57 !!! I feel super cheap if I get that for him...but at the same time, i don't want to go buy the exact same ring for $300just to spend more...do any of you know know how the quality is from overstock? have any of you bought your FI's ring from there? there are like 160 reviews and it has a 4.8 out of 5 so thats good right? TIA!!!

  • I say go for it.  For that price even if you don't like it...

  • Have you shopped for rings with him yet? Take him to a few jewelry stores and get an idea of what he likes. Maybe find a store that carries something similar to that ring, and guide him towards it to see how he reacts.
He's going to wear it forever, he needs to like it no matter what the cost.Good Luck.

  • I say go for it! I've used Overstock.com in the past on many things.. I've gotten designer sunglasses.. high thread count bedding.. shoes.. etc.. and I've never been disappointed, plus you can't beat their flat rate shipping! I've had nothing but good experiences with overstock.
  • Why are you picking out his ring for him? Let him try some on in local jewelry shops and pick out what he wants.

If you HAVE done this, and found the same ring on Overstock for a better price ... buy it (I'm assuming it can be returned, right?) and let him try it on and see if he likes it.

I've ordered stuff from Overstock before and I've never had a problem.

yup we've already looked at rings...he just wants a simple one with like a groove or beveled edges...which is what this one has, a groove on the top and bottom. totally his style...i was just wondering what the craftmanship is like on rings from overstock...and from previous posts it seems to be good...i'm still thinking about it! hmmm

  • We ordered my wedding band from overstock.  We actually asked the jeweler that my fiance bought my ering from about overstock and she said that it's just stuff that didnt' get sold else wear.  So the quality is usually good.  My ring is beautiful and just as good quality as the exact same ring I tried on at the jewelers.  Only it was 150 bucks cheaper! Hope that helps!
  • we didn't order any of our rings from overstock but we have ordered jewelry in the past from there and we've never been disappointed. they have good stuff, and great prices. and returns are easy if you don't like it.

i'd say go for it and order it. you can always return it.
  • I have good luck with returns on that site, in case you get it and the quality isn't good or something.  I've mostly gotten sterling silver and a few items weren't well made, but I got my bridesmaids pearl necklaces and stud earrings with gold hardware and they were very good quality.  Were there any customer reviews?
  • I bought a cheapo ring for myself on overstock- the reviews were great!

I've received the ring and I LOVE it, but it is cheap. It's not an every day ring. Just a little black diamond band to wear as an accent. I almost bought a nice diamond band there for myself, but I found one at a local outlet store for the same price.

For $57, even if he hates it, it isn't a huge loss.
