1 wk to go & I still need help!

PLEASE don't report me for posting this on the wrong board. I've already put this post under the wedding classifieds, but I'm DESPERATE at this point for any help.

My wedding is 1 wk from today & I went for my last dress fitting earlier today. I've been told that there is nothing I can do to keep the soft sweetheart top of my strapless dress from possibly showing my bra, all the stuffing in it &/or a "nip slip" outside of tying the back corset lacing tighter. That works for the front problem, but gives me "back boobs".

Therefore, I'm desperately trying to find a white, lace 3/4 sleeve bolero jacket to cover my back fat from having to tie the corset so tight.

If you have no suggestions for me getting the jacket on such short notice, please let me know your ideas of how to keep the front of my dress flush with my chest. I tried double stick tape, but that stuff is worthless.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Oh no! I'm sure you can work something out.

Sounds crazy, but I had a friend do this..and it worked!..Try getting a thin piece of velcro and attach it to your bra, and the other to your dress. Might be worth a shot! Good luck!

It might be worth checking whether David's Bridal has something available for immediate purchase or that you or your mother/sister/friend/etc. could run and get at a store within a two to three hour radius (Baton Rouge?  Lafayette?  Biloxi/Gulfport?  Mobile?)  Or, if you or anyone you know can sew, a bolero is a relatively simply project that can be made in a day, just be careful of the sizing because I think patterns can run one or two sizes smaller than "street sizes"...it might be a good idea to go up a size, then pin anywhere it's loose and run another seam before trimming everything up and finishing off the garment.  Good luck!

You could also try taking a white shawl and tying it behind your shoulders.  It might be a good fix in this short time frame.

what about getting the bra cups sew into the dress?

I've always had problems with strapless bras ending up at my waist by the end of a night. (ugh!) I needed a solution to have both the bra stay up, AND the dress stay up and not show the bra! haha

I bought a longline bra which helped a lot. my dress just zipped, so I didn't have the option of tying a corset tighter to help the dress stay in place.  instead, I had a seamstress sew in a belt (sort of like a thicker version of a bra band) to help keep the dress tight around my ribcage.  Then I just safety pinned the bra to the inside of the belt so it wouldnt stick out on top. Worked perfectly for me.

I agree with going into a local davids bridal or maybe even any local bridal shop to see if they have any in immeadiate stock, try online stores and overnight it and if needed do a quick hem job on it
