corset, spanx or both?

I'm trying to buy my undergarments, I def. want a pair of spanx but my dress is strapless and I feel like a corset will give me more of the lift I want as opposed to a regular stapless bra. Any ideas or insight? WIll a corset AND spanx be too much??? Any products you recommend? Has anyone has expereince wearing both at the same time?? Because that's what I'm leaning towards. Or ideas on Spanx with a strapless bra? Please help!

For me, no it wouldn't be too much.  I always double up.  If you do double up though, just remember its like a 2nd thick skin.  You might feel uncomfortable and it might look much better with just the spanx.  Try talking to the seamstress about adding cups for you.  That way you have the lift of the cups and the support of the spanxs.

I've worn both at the same time and recommend either not doing it or buying your Spanx too big.  If the Spanx start to roll down under your corset the only way to fix it is to strip down and start over - you don't want that to happen.

Also, remember heat - it'll be warm in your dress already likely.

I have worn both, though not with my wedding dress. I think it depends on your comfort level. My boobs are huge, so my bustier is INTENSE! And the boning in it can stick out sometimes. I usually put it over my spanx when I wear them together so the spanx do not roll down like mentioned above. I will not be wearing spanx for the wedding. I think it looks fine without it, and because I will have a DW, I do not think I can take the added heat it will bring!
