BRA HELP - I need something that will add 2 cup sizes!!

Hi Knotties,

I wear a 42B bra. I am plus size - my bra size isn't. I need to even it out.

I'm looking for a long-line bra that comes all the way up in the back, but dips lower in the front center (because my dress does).

1. Is there a website that sells these?
2. Where can I get pads to put into my bra to make it from a size B to a size D?

Stores keep trying to put me in a 42C or a 44B.
I got a bra at David's Bridal that's a 42C, but bunches up lots in the back.
They told me I needed a 44B. With the 44, it didn't bunch up in the back, but the B cup in the 44 was almost twice as big as a C cup in the 42!!! Yikes!II
I don't care how fake they look, no one will see them. I'd prefer as cheap as possible.

My wedding is in 38 days. Please help quick!

  • They sell gel inserts at almost any lingerie store these days... Victoria's Secret, etc, but most of these will take you up a single cup size, and anything bigger might need a special order. If you want to double up on them, I'd buy one set in a C cup and one in a D-cup.

I own one of these bras and I LOVE it. If your dress isn't strapless, it could be a GREAT option. They can convert to a halter style as well as regular straps.

Fredricks of Hollywood has some items that add a cup size or two, like these: http://www.fredericks.com/Full_Breast_Enhancers/50319,default,pd.html?cgid=br23 they're not cheap, but they might give you the look you're going for.

You may already know this - but bra cup sizes are proportionate to the band size. If you look at a 32B bra next to a 38B, for example, you'll see that the cup size is no where near the same. If the size you're "told" is right for you isn't comfortable, the "sister size" might be a better fit. Usually when you go up a band size, you need to go down a cup size to keep the proportion the same (this is called the sister size). If you find the 44B band size most comfortable but the cups too large, try a 44A on to see how that feels.

I size as a 36C, but 90% of the time, I find 38Bs to be more comfortable- and my breasts aren't any smaller just because the cup size is labeled a "B"!

  • Joann's Fabrics carries the stick on bras made of silicone and they go up to a D. I would think they would have to add at least a cup size or two. They are only about $20.

They should sell these in Wal-Mart as well.

WOW...thanks for all of the help everyone! It is greatly apprecaited.

    1. The link to the Fredricks of Hollywood bra didn't work. What is the name of that one?

I need at least a size 42. I could only find a few bras at the Victoria's Secret website that go to a 40 (most the highest are 38). Do they sell them bigger in the store?

    Thanks again Knotties!

    1) The one I have that I LOVE is the V-Plunge Push-up http://www.victoriassecret.com/ss/Satellite?ProductID=1265273375506&c=Page&cid=1265275334516&collAssetType=LBIProductSet&pagename=vsdWrapper
After looking at their website, I realized it's not the one that adds 2 cup sizes. But it does add quite a bit!

    2) The item from Fredrick's of Hollywood is the "Full Breast Enhancer" Be forewarned - it's pretty anatomically correct (nipples and all), and I've never worn it, so I can't speak to it's comfort. They have a few other enhancers, etc you could look into as well.

    Good luck!

  • I have a bodysuit from Lane Bryant that might work. it's got convertable top and plunge between the breasts. Comes in nude or black and lots of sizes.
  • the bra that the ladies are talking about from Victorias seccret is called the Miraculous bra, many people call it the Bombshell because thats how they advertized it, it is now made in a multiway aka strapless, the size goes up to 38 D, you coudl always go in and try it, technicaly you would need a 40 C for your sister size, so it may be hard to get into a 38
