Female Officiant Attire

What do you think about a female officiant wearing a violet floor length gown for a wedding that starts at 5pm? Formal event? It blends well.

I think an officiant is probably competent enough to pick what they want to wear themselves, male or female.

I think that sounds great as long as it is her idea.  I wouldn't try to dictate what your officiant will wear.

Is the officiant a minister or judge? Or a friend? I think an officiant might look a little strange in a formal evening dress, but I don't know if that's the style you're talking about. I would probably prefer an understated pantsuit or dress with arms covered.

Ours was a friend who was ordained for the day. She chose her own attire: black, knee length wrap dress which fit the event and venue perfectly.  It looked great, and was something she already had.
