Flower woes... recs?

Hi ladies!
Sorry I've been MIA for over a week- went to Vegas with the FI for a few days and since I got back work has been taking over my life.

I had my first flower consultation this past weekend...Suzanne's Weddings in Hampstead.. and almost had a heart attack at the price quote she gave me. I have 4 bridesmaids, plus my flowers, plus 8 boutiniers (spelling), 3 coursages (again, spelling) and little flowers  my 2 flower girls. OH and table centerpieces & a vase of flowers for the church. I even said I'm going to supply my own vases. She quoted me around $3,000 (and that's WITH my 10% bridal show discount.)

Is it just me or is that absolutely absurd pricing? Personally I dont care about flowers that much-- I obviously just want them to be pretty and go with my colors (pink & green).

Soooo.. that being said.. any recent recs of florists? I know there are some in PP's,  but I live in Mass. and would be willing to travel in Southern NH and Mass. to make an appt.

Thanks ladies :)

Wow that does sound like a lot.  I used Lindsey Loring out of Dover, it may be a bit of a drive for you but she is worth it!  We had 1 bridal bouquet, 2 bridesmaids, 5 bouts, 5 corsages, centerpieces and a toss bouquet, and our quote was well under $1000 including delivery and setup.  And I LOVED my flowers they came out awesome and she has great ideas.

I second Lyndsey.  Her quote for us was much less than I expected!  We have my bouquet, a toss bouquet, 3 bridesmaid bouquets, 1 jr. bridesmaid bouquet, 5 boutineers, 1 wrist coursage, 2 corsages for the moms, 10 centerpeices, 8 pew buckets, and one altar arrangement.  We are below the quote that you were given and  look at the amount of flowers we have and this includes delivery!  On her website she gives you an idea of price points too!  Love that!
EDIT We are also getting bouts for the ring bearers and small arrangements for the flowergirls.

That does sound like a lot.

I am getting 4 BM bouquets, mine bouquet/toss, 4 pin on corsages, 11 bouts, 25 centerpieces, cake flowers, 2 altar arrangements and some small arrangements for the card table and I believe we are paying $1800. And that includes delivery and set up. The centerpieces are the majority of the cost.

We're using Julie at Creative Gardens in Lee, NH.

I went with Ford Flowers in Salem. My flowers are $2200 for 8 bouquets, 19 centerpieces, flower girl wands, 18 boutoinierres (each of my aunt's and uncles is wearing one as well), and our ceremony flowers. I'm doing dahlias, callas and hydrangeas. It's definitely worth checking out and Burt was awesome to work with.

    Another Lyndsey Loring plug.

1 bridal bouquet, 4 bm bouquets, 3 nosegays, 9 bouts, 1 alter arrangement, 2 door wreaths, 20 pew wreaths, 20 centerpieces, and a few small arrangements for gift and favor tables. Throw in delivery as well.

All for less than $2000. Can't beat it. Lyndsey is an absolute sweetheart, so that doesn't hurt either!

Edit: What kind of flowers are you using? That could significantly impact your price.

We used Secret Eden Flowers out of Pelham, NH. We got my bouquet, 6 bridemaids, 4 corsages, 6 bouts, a flower girl bouquet and a toss bouquet for $950 and the only reason it was that expensive was because we used roses and tulips, which are both on the pricier side. I'm not sure how pricey her centerpieces, etc. are, but she would be worth talking to as another option!

She was great to work with, was flexible with our budget, and was very accomodating in terms of making changes and adjustments. Our flowers were BEAUTIFUL (we got so many raves) and they truly made the day that much more beautiful.

She has some estimates listed on her website. Check her out! http://www.secretedenflowers.com

Suzanne's is doing the centerpieces for us, but only because it comes with our wedding package at the Granite Rose.  FI's uncle is a florist and will be doing everything else for us.

I am using Couture in Bloom. I am getting my bouquet, 3 BM bouquets, a FG bouquet, 8 boutenires, 2 mothers coursages, 3 grandmothers pin coursages, and a toss bouquet for $740. Kimberly is so nice and really takes the time to sit with you and give you what you really want.

I'm using Coll's Florist in Jaffrey NH.  She originally quoted us about 750 which was more than I wanted but she's really sweet.  That would cover my bouqet, 5 BM, 6 Bouts, a throw bouqet and 2 baskets of mums for the outdoor altar.

I also don't really care about flowers so I'm not using them for center pieces and we can't have bouts for the men as my FI is wearing an Army uniform.  So see if there is a way that you could cut some flowers to save, but I agree 3000 is a LOT of money.

I didn't get the chance to shop around for a florist, so I would suggest get a few quotes as I might have done better price wise.  It never hurts to even say so and so can do this price what can you do if you like one florist a little more than the other.

We are using Jennifer Cahill at The Tangled Web in Pembroke, MA.  She has incredible reviews and is very popular on the Boston board.  She has a $2,000 minimum for NH weddings but that should cover everything you need.
