What to wear?

I have a wedding to attend next month. I'm trying to decided what I should wear. It is a day time wedding and the invitations seem very informal, but DH is in the wedding and as to wear a tux which seems a bit more formal. Any suggestions for a wedding that has mixed messages in terms of formality?

    Thanks for the advice. I haven't been to an informal wedding in quite some time so I wasn't quite sure what the attire etiquette rules were.

    I would probably wear a brightly colored dress (either short or maxi-dress) in a dressier fabric, but nothing sequined/bejeweled, or otherwise too evening-y.   If that makes sense.
