Reception-Wrap skirt? Skirt over pants? Just pants? (for bride)

I want very much to be *comfortable* at my reception party.  The point of it (for me) is to be with all the people I love and want to stay there and dance all night.  I am not a dress person.  When I wear a dress, all I can think about is getting back into comfy blue jeans as soon as possible.
I'm also not traditional, and had every intention of wearing nice jeans or pants to our reception.  Fiance nixed it.  He plans on a suit.
SO, I'm trying to find a middle-ground.  I would do an ao dai type thing, except my fiance's family is chinese and they'd probably just think I was trying to do chinese but got confused.  I'm thinking maybe a pretty sheer skirt over silk pants?  Or a wrap skirt?
Has anyone seen anything like this that is pretty and feminine and comfortable?  I've been searching the web but all I can find are wedding pants outfits that look like business suits (I'm not that formal), or outfits that look like I should be on a runway (I'm not very fashionable).  I just want comfortable, simple, feminine.
Any advice would be VERY appreciated!

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but you might want to google dressy palazzo pants.  Many of the nicer department stores will have variations of them in their cocktail/occasion dress section.  I think you may have a hard time finding them in any color other than black.  I'm also afraid you may find that they are a bit matronly looking for you.
  • I would think how you dress would match the type of reception you are hosting. You might want to be "comfortable" but iif your reception is still at a "formal" location, it might be quite odd if you are dressed LESS fancy than your guests which would inevitably make you feel awkward and not comfortable especially because...Let's face the truth, people WILL comment if you are't wearing some type of nice dress while they are all dressed up.. It is your wedding, but will you be prepared for the barage of comments that it will bring with the situation. If you are comfortable with your choice, good for you...but I DO hope you realize your choice WILL bring comments. I  just want to make sure you have thought of that

What type of reception are you hosting?
