WHY oh WHY!?

I have had ooodles of trouble with my dress from David's Bridal's alterations department. Wish I had known they were crap before I had my dress altered there.... oh well.

The dress was perfect length (before alterations, I ordered petite) for my 1.5 inch shoes I bought for FI's sister's wedding UNTIL... my last fitting when my BFF suggested I try on her fit and flare slip. Having never tried on a poofy dress before, I agreed. Well... now I'm in love. Downside: now I have to find shoes that work. I now need flats. I'm leaning toward the blue glitter Toms and am wondering how many of you wore Toms on your big day?

Here's the dress without and with the poof:

Please excuse the face... my mother was being a stinker.

WIth the poof. LOVED it! I was twirling around like a mad woman. =D

  • I'm wearing flats.  FI and I are the same height.  I bought flats for $12.99 from Target!

  • I'm wearing flats because my FI is a little shorter than me, they are champagne colored and super sparkely.

  • I had really short heals and changed into flats at the reception.  There are some really nice strappy sandles this time of year that you could try.

  • I bought some great flats at 6pm.com - they're satin and have little pearls.
  • Love the dress!!  Although, I'm biased, because I wore the exact same one :-)

I'm not a huge fan of TOMS though, they just aren't my style and I think they are way too casual for a wedding.  I'd recommend shopping around, there are so many gorgeous flats out there that would compliment the dress.  Besides, I'd stay away from anything with too many sparkles, etc, the top layer of the dress or the under layers of the slip can get caught on them.
