Re: Flip Flops with Wedding Dress?

  • I would do pretty ballet flats instead of flip-flops; but in the end the choice is yours:)

  • It's really up to you, but my suggestion would be flats or a pretty jeweled sandal.
  • If you want flat shoes, you have lots of options.  I might say closed toe if you expect cooler weather and open toe if you expect warmer weather.  You can definitely get something a little fancier than flip flops if you'd like but if you have your heart set on flip flops that's fine too!

Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • I'm casting my vote for flats or sandals. The flip flop sound would ruin it for me.

  • My coworker wore lovely gladiator sandles on her wedding day.  They were flat, and had jewels throughout the straps that tied around her ankles.  There are so many nice, flat shoes out there, you don't need to use flipflops!

[QUOTE]Please don't. They make a loud flapping sound as you walk. Tacky. Most people walk like ducks in them, and you'll be wearing a long skirt. Lastly.......this is the most formal, and probably the most expensive, gown you will ever wear. Do you want to pair it with cheap beachwear? The wrong shoes can ruin and outfit, and it doesn't look quirky or cute.  It just looks tacky. P.S. What's wrong with being taller than your husband? Mine is shorter than I am.  Doesn't affect our relationship at all, and I doubt your honey is that insecure.

    All of this.

I LOVE flip flops and have too many pairs to count.  However, I really think it cheapens the look of wearing an expensive wedding gown!  In addition, I couldn't imagine walking down the aisle with the flip flop sound.  It's one day, get a cute pair of ballet flats or sandals.
  • I'd be more worried about the sound than the look. Plus, I'm not terribly graceful in flip flops. The dress would probably get stuck under my heel and... Nope, I wouldn't chance it.

However... I'm wearing my tan cowgirl boots. This might cheapen the look, but I'm a Texan girl and it's totally me. And that's the look I'm going for. ;)  So if you're a flip flop girl and that's who you are, I'd say go for it.
