roaring 20s inspired dress

I would like to do a 1920s art deco style wedding. I will be holding a brooch bouquet and giving my bridesmaids clutches to walk down the aisle with. All of us will have 1920s inspired hair. Anyway I'd like to have a somewhat inspired 1920s dress without being over the top....so I'd like it to be a nod to the dresses of the era...not actually be from that era...I don't have a super large budget...any suggestions? Any suggestions on what y bridesmaids should wear?

I don't have a dress suggestion, but I would strongly recommend letting them do their hair as they wish. Aside from being too controlling, period-style hair with a period-style dress will look costume-y.

Well my plan was to have attire and hair as a nod to the 20s not like the actual 1920s whole getup. I realize if i go to overboard it'll look like a costume party and my sister and I both have long hair so bob cuts are out and tight fingerwave curles are also out. I was thinking more like loose curls with a slight fingerwave.

I'm actually doing something similar but my dress is a lot more hollywood glamour than coco chanel's garcon look. It's hard to find things that would work but if you could find something with a dropped waist line that would probably work.

HI I have a lot to say since I've looked HIGH & LOW for my dress and I have the same theme, well I'm more old hollywood 1930s art deco...

I have a ton of dresses cataloged from my search that I can tell you about however I can narrow it down with a few questions for you...

1. Do you want color or traditional white?

2. Do you want art deco or 1920s? Art deco would be a longer closer to the body bias cut dress and 1920s would be more flapper style.

3. How formal do you want your dress to be?

The one dress that I did find that was inbetween art deco/nouveau and isn't a traditional color is by Adrianna Papell....

If you don't like it as a wedding dress it would make a great bridesmaid dress! Also what really helped me narrow down what I wanted is watching old movies from the era to get an idea of the styles back then. I also looked up movie stars and old wedding photos of the time.
