Ok ladies I am having a meltdown over here and just wanted to vent/get some advice. I purchased my dress about a year ago at DB. It was a discontinued dress and was the last one in the store so I got it for a steal ($240!!). Anyways, my first fitting is in July and I went back to DB to look for undergarments to go with it. Well when I tried on the dress it wouldn't zipper (it fit when I purchased it a year ago so I must have gained some weight : ( ). I was clearly upset so they had an alterations lady come out to tell me what they could do. She started showing me what they would do and telling me how much it would cost. With everything they have to do for alteration its going to cost me close to $400....I know alterations can cost a lot but are they normally this high?? That is double what I spent on the dress. Also I feel so ashamed of how I look in the dress I have no idea what to do about it. Has anyone ever had second thoughts about their dress and do you have any suggestions as to where else I can get more affordable, yet good alterations done to the dress. I think its going to be expensive no matter where I go because beading needs to be added where they let it out. I have been such a wreck over this and am not really sure what to do other than start a hard core diet and pray everything works out.....any positive thoughts would be welcomed! Just wanting to vent a little with some other ladies who may/may not have been in my shoes. Thanks in advance!
