Veil or no veil??

Here is my dress and my hair do. I said from the beginning that the only "weddingish" thing I wanted was a veil. Now I'm questioning it. Anyone have an opinion on what you think will look best?

Re: Veil or no veil??

  • Wow I LOVE your dress and the hair style. My personal opinion is if you do a viel with that dress it might look like too much.

  • I think it could go either way. I don't think a matilla would look great, but a simple veil would look great! Or a birdcage. Or no veil!

    Great dress, btw!

  • LOVE the hair! Dress is so pretty and unique...I'm thinking you could move your bun (?) up a little and have a veil tucked under, something real light and airy??

I love your dress!  I'd like to pair it with a birdcage veil, since the dress is so dramatic on its own.
  • You definately dont need the veil to add anything to it, but I'm all about wearing a veil so I say either way! Try it all on together and see what you think. Try some veils on at the store, if they dont do you justice, skip it.
  • No veil. Nice hair!
  • Whoa, your dress is fantastic!

I'd go for a short or birdcage veil...I think anything else would take away from the glory of that gown!

  • I think the veil would be really pretty and make it look more bridal-y
  • i'd go for a short veil that goes under your hairstyle. :)
  • I think a birdcage veil would look great!

  • I vote something like this (which is what I'll have at my wedding):
Maybe you could even do it in black to match your dress so its not "weddingish"!

I think a birdcage or a fascinator (black and white would be super striking) would be better. I like the fascinators (sort of like above) best, personally. No veil for me!

Oh, and I love your dress. Would you mind sharing what kind it is?
And if you should die before me, ask if you can take a friend. Pick a flower, close your eyes, and drift away- STP

  • I personally think that a veil, whether one tier or five, makes a bride.  There are very few dresses where a veil doesn't go and your's isn't one of them.  I would opt for more plain and simple, no crystals or lace.
