HELP! Bridesmaid Shoes!

I'm seriously stumped on what color shoe to tell my bridesmaids to get.

The dress is a (mink) which is a dark brown with a mid section sash which is (aqua blue) like a robins egg color.

Gold, Brown, Clear?

Thank you!

What about the same color as the sash? Or would that be more color than you want? I don't think I would choose clear shoes. I think a gold, pewter or something similar would work well.

Gold could go well. But for the love of not looking like strippers, not clear

LOL Ditto this! Clear shoes = stripper, not bridesmaid

  • Plus, clear shoes are usually PVC, which doesn't breathe. I wore clear plastic pumps as part of a Cinderella costume, and by the end of the night they were cloudy. So gross.

You could always just tell them to get something that they feel goes with the dress, as long as they run them by you before buying. (That way you can veto any stripper shoes.) That's what I did with mine. No one is really going to notice their shoes (and if your dresses are long, they're not even visible), it's not worth stressing over.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I think a nice brown satin shoe would work nicely too.

Did a search for you at dsw.com:

Ha! You took the words right out of my mouth! I'd say gold, or there are a ton of dyable selections, so you could each have them choose one they like and are comfortable in, and then have them dyed to match the dress or the sash.

Zappos.com has tons of dyable shoes, in all sorts of heel hights and widths (anything white satin will work, also see Colorifics and Touch-ups), they also offer free shipping and returns, so each girl can order a few, find the ones she likes best and send the others back. http://www.zappos.com/search/dyeable/page/1

I use them a lot, to bring the shoe store to me.
