Finding straps to add to the dress

I ordered a strapless gown (Davinci style 8377) and it comes with plain white straps that you can remove or add if you want them. However, they do not make the dress in my size and it's coming one month before the wedding so I don't know if I'll have time for alterations. To fix this, I was going to find a very padded bra to hopefully add the 2 inches to fill it out. However, I have not found a strapless bra that adds so much that doesn't fall down.

I would like to add lace straps to the dress so I can wear a bra with straps.
 Does anybody know where/ if I can find this?

What about using an embellished sash as a one shoulder strap or halter strap or even two for traditional straps? Seen it done before...great way to add a personal and modern touch to a strapless gown. Maybe one adorned with flowers and jewel accents (if you have a real simple gown)...

What do you think? Fun, feminine and functional or just functional??
