Wow sorry for the typos!! On my phone
  • When I tried my gown on they asked me my bra size and then handed me a strapless "long bra" almost like a corset. I don't know if every shop does this or not.

  • I brought a strapless bra with me. The consultant helping me actually said some girls just try dresses on without a bra at all or just fold your straps down.

My salon did this as well, it actually worked better than anything I would have brought with me. But, some people get weird about other people wearing the same bra. I just view it like bowling shoes.

Make sure you wear full coverage underwear as well and I stuck with plain white.

  • Full coverage under wear or exercise shorts if your modest. DB let me use a strapless bra.
  • They all loan bras pretty much.  I just wore a pair of boy briefs, which cover my whole butt, Spanx, and a nude bra.  My hair covers the bra straps - I wasn't buying a strapless just for trying on dresses and I am not borrowing undergarments.

My Spanx were the tank top kind with the bra area cut out...not only did it make me feel better about being disrobed in front of a stranger but it helped dresses slide down over my midsection very easily!  And of course sucked in my jiggly bits.

  • I wore full back underwear and went braless in the dresses I tried on.

  • I wore a strapless bra and full coverage underwear.  They did offer me a strapless bra if I didnt have one though.

  • When I ordered my dress I tried it on with a strapless bra just because I was nursing and didn't want any milk accidents. Otherwise I would have gone braless. When my dress came in I tried it on braless because I wanted to see if it was supportive enough or if I would need to get an undergarment. I'm chesty and find strapless bras very uncomfortable so I was happy that the corset held me in/up good enough that I don't need one.

  • a few places I went too offered a stapless bra, otherwise i went with out. And full undies, although once I forgot and wore a thong (embarassing lol), but i still was able to try on. The consultant even said some girls have the odasidy to go with no panties. The consultant said she would sent them to go buy undies haha. But its what ever you are most comfortable in.

  • I went to one shop and found a dress. They offered me a corset style type bra like others have said which was much better than what I would have brought... I forgot my strapless bra. I wore the underwear I wear on a regular basis and they were BRIGHT ORANGE! It made for good times and it really wasn't embarrassing to try on dresses with the consultant. It's like wearing your bathing suit which probably shows more goods anyway! For my dress though, I'm going braless because it's backless...
  • I wore my strapless bra and leggings...made it really easy to get in and out or dresses (if you plan on trying on a few...)
  • I actually did go out and buy a strapless bra. Kind of glad I did bc my entourage took pics of me in the dress I chose, and they came out nice enough that I'll be adding them to my memory book of the days leading up to the wedding. Also, I wore basic white bikini underwear.
  • Going gown shoppin in a week; I was told by a friend of mine (who just bought her gown) to wear under your clothing whatever you don't mind being seen in by the people helping you into the gown. I'm a VERY modest person; it's going to take a lot for me to be seen wihtout full clothing, so I'm going to at *least* wear full underwear and a full bra.

Then again, I want my dress to have straps and I want to be able to wear a bra under my dress, so it'd be a good test IMO.
