Dress fitting blues...

Hi Brides!

I just went to my first dress fitting and now I'm getting nervous! I told myself over and over 'the first fitting is always the hardest' and 'the dress won't look like you pictured until the 2nd fitting' but I'm afraid that even in the 2nd fitting it won't get to where I want it! Even after they pinned the dress it still looked baggy and like it wouldn't conform to my body. Has anyone else gone through this? How much can you actually alter a dress to fit your body?

  • First off, what a pretty dress! I think it looks great on you. I can see where you think it's a little baggy in the top, but I don't see any reason why they can't take that in more. They might need to actually do the alterations and then pin it a bit more to get it to fit right, I wouldn't worry about it.
  • gorgeous dress! lazaro is my favorite but it's not in our budget if we don't want to wait a extra year [my parents are paying & my sister just got married too] :[ lol no fair! i can see what you mean about it being a bit big but i wouldn't worry about it either. it definitely doesn't look too big where it's not adjustable.
  • Just don't lose anymore weight, for one thing.  YOu look great as it is!  It's easy to pull the bust in more, so no worries.
  • I think that your dress is going to fit you perfectly when the alterations are finished. And like Amoro said, don't lose anymore weight or you'll end up having to do another round of alterations to get it to fit properly.  Beautiful dress.
