Re: tux?

  • No.

    Blaaaaagh@colored tuxes.
Entice him with thoughts of looking like James Bond and sticking to a classic black tux.

  • I'm not a fan. They remind me of Prom.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I'd say no to the white tux, definitely reminds me of prom. If he wants to stand out I'd suggest finding a grey suit in a different shade. Maybe his groomsman wear a lighter shade of grey and his be darker color or vice versa.
  • Yeah, no to the white tux - very prommish.  I'd run the James Bond idea by him and let him know hot much hotter he would look in a black tux.  I know my DH does.
  • My dad wore a white tux for my parent's wedding (in 1982). It is hilarious. I'm assuming that's not the reaction he's looking for.

  • If he is a stylish kind of guy, maybe he can pull of a white dinner jacket with black pants and a black tie? I love this look, but you have to be the right kind of dude to pull it off. Think Frank Sinatra. It's also very formal

I actually got online and went to davids bridal and did the dress your wedding. So he could somewhat see how it would like. He still likes the white. But now he likes the white with his groomsmen in white. Oh boy. I am as well on that thought its his wedding to so I have to let him do his thing. I also showed him the black and even though I did not want black at all. After seeing everything together or semi together im hoping he picks black.

  • If your man puts on a white tux and feels like a million bucks I vote you tell him he's the hottest thing since fire or soup or whatever comparison you like and enjoy the heck out of your wedding :)

Heck yeah JennMarie1!  That's the best advice on this board!  It's his day, too.  I know there are a lot of traditionally-minded Knotties who will jump to call you out on any deviation from traditional rules of fashion (like non-black tuxes or wearing tuxes in the daytime), but I doubt any of them are coming to your wedding.
