pay someone or DIY?

Should I pay to have my dress steamed or just buy a steamer and DIY? We are having a destination wedding so im sure the dress may get a little wrinkled along with the guys suits. is an at home steamer worth the purchase?

[QUOTE]Are you getting married at a resort or hotel type place? If so, I'd ask them if their in-house laundry service can steam it as a courtesy to you OR if they can recommend a local place. They do make travel steamers that are hand-held. I've used one in a pinch and it works. Another way to reduce wrinkles is to hang the clothing on the back of the bathroom door, crank the shower up to hot, close the door and let the bathroom get steamy to release the wrinkles. What type of material is your gown made from?

<div>Ah yes, the steamy bathroom. Let me count the ways FI hates when I do this. Haha</div>

  • the dress is satin, very simple, no beading or pleats or anything complicated
  • My friends wedding was last year and my tailor did not steam my BM dress. Not realizing until day of when I took it out of the garment bag - we turned the shower up & that worked great. =)
