Hi all, I've been following this forum for awhile and have seen all good stuff on netbride.com and pearls place, etc. I ordered my dress from Netbride the beginning of December with a guarenteed delivery date TO ME of 30 March.
with the exception of very slow responses to emails, all has been going well. I received an email saying they shipped my dress to me on March 9th. Their website and conversations with them told me that they always ship insured and because I'm at an APO they charge extra because they express mail the package to me.
Now if they had really shipped express insured there would have been two ways to track the package and it would have arrived within three days (I've shipped other stuff express mail to me before.) My dress still hasn't arrived and when I've emailed them asking for tracking information they simply tell me "give it a few more days, don't stress yet".
Bottom line: "the dress is in the mail" - no tracking at ALL on it, they can't tell me where it's at. Their guarenteed delivery date is Tuesday (only 2 mail days left). What happens if the dress doesn't get here Monday or Tuesday? What good is the guarentee at that point? My wedding is in 24 days! Anyone run into an issue where they didn't meet their delivery date? What do they do for you at that point?
Advice needed please! (No - I do not need lectures about buying online vs at a salon - I triple checked that these people ARE authorized dealers for my dress maker and even if I had bought at a salon, they would have still shipped it to me as I am stationed in Germany.)

Re: Netbride.com issues
"Thank you for your message! Indeed, your dress did come in (and it looks
beautiful) -- it has been shipped out to you, and you can expect to receive
it by the end of next week (so around the 18th/19th of March or so).
Unfortunately, there is no tracking on the package."
So there is NO tracking :-(

,p>If they have until Tuesday, you need to take a deep breath and wait until Wednesday to call them, if the dresses don't arrive tomorrow. I've had great experiences with Netbride in the past, and I wouldn't doubt them.
You mentioned you're stationed in Germany. I can't swear to it, but isn't netbride US based? There may be issues with the package going through customs that they have absolutely no control over, and you can't blame them for it. Express mailed or not. It does seem really odd that they don't have a tracking confirmation, however, but I don't remember having one of those when I ordered a dress through there previously.
Anyway, wait and see if it arrives today or tomorrow before you start stressing out more about this.
Don't get me wrong, I ordered through Netbride because of all the good reviews and things people had to say about them - that's why I am so shocked when they said that they mailed a dress without any type of tracking numbers!!! (as for your bridesmaid dresses - if they were shipped UPS or FedEx they automatically come with tracking numbers)
Both the customer service and their website state that they guarantee they ship their packages insured. if they really did ship it insured then they would have an insurance tracking number - which they say they don't have any tracking numbers.

,p>Did you get your gown from netbride.com yet? I am seriously considering ordering from them for my bridesmaids. I have read nothing but great reviews about them.

My dress finally came in after the promised date with less than two weeks before I flew to my wedding in Scotland. IMy issue was that they couldn't ship it UPS or FedEx but had to ship USPS - they shipped it priority (when I paid for express) and with no insurance or tracking. The dress was really crappy packed and had a couple snags where it was crammed in a box way too small for the dress with no wrapping or padding (it had a very thin loose dust cover dry cleaning type bag over the whole thing that was torn up so provided no protection and ONE piece of tissue paper). The cheap plastic hanger or beads they had the dress still on had snagged the dress a couple places and I had to get fixed. (Let me give you a clue - My dress, you can see on my siggy, had a 9ft train and was very "full" - they crammed it, a hanger, a shall, and a dress bag in a box that measures 22x15x4 - yes, 4" tall.)
The dress was still beautiful and what I ordered at a really good price but please please if you order them, make sure that you do so early enough that if something goes wrong they can order new dresses in (which is what they said they would normally do if the dress got "lost" like it did in my case). I would order through them again for sure if I was in the states where they have trackable shipping. Again, their prices were GREAT. What they did for me, however, is gave me a discount on the dress that made the dress a little less than the prices that it cost THEM (which, in my case, turned out to be about half of what I initially paid.). What they was going to TRY to do if my dress had not shown up when it did was refund 100% of the cost of my dress then express ship me a sample dress that was in stock at THEIR cost so that I could have A dress.
Like I said - order from them, but do so EARLY - like now for BM dresses. So the latest date is at least a couple months from your wedding date so they can correct any issues. The only other person I've heard of having a problem was laura and david (above) and they got their issue corrected too. I ordered mine Dec 2nd for a April 21st wedding (flying April 15). I didn't get my dress until the first week in April (like april 5th). The promise date was the end of March which, yes, was cutting it close, but I knew my dress did not need alterations (well except for the snag I had to fix) and they told me normally the dress NORMALLY turns up a few weeks before the promised date. (In their defense, the dress SHIPPED March 9th, they just shipped it WRONG - I paid for express, insured, and tracked, they shipped it priority with nothing - no insurance, delivery conf, tracking, nothing.)
They tell me that they have since 'corrected' the shipping issue that caused my issue - some girl in the business office was taking it to the post office and dumping it rather than properly shipping it. Oh and I found out that normal "freak-out" time according to them is if you do not have your dress about 5 days before the promised latest.
If I were you and knew now exactly what dresses you want, I would order through them NOW and I am sure that you would be happy. But so you know - I found out after I ordered that pearl's place had an even better price than netbride.com so be sure to check pearl's jays and netbride to compare before you order!.
