Recommendations for adhesive bras?

Hi ladies.. I would prefer not to have cups sewn into my dress. For that reason, I'm trying to decide what to do about a bra. I would prefer not to wear a strapless one, and I was considering a self-adhesive bra. Does anyone have experience with them, and can anyone recommend a brand? I'm in Canada, so I don't have stores like Macy's or Victoria's Secret, but I may consider purchasing online if I can't find one I like in person.

Are they irritating to your skin? You can use them more than once, right? Which would allow me to test it out before the wedding day..

Thanks!

ETA: My dress is strapless with a corset back. Is there any chance that I just don't need to worry about it at all?

  • I agree with stage. I have never worn an adhesive bra, but I know my sister had one for prom a few years back and it was very uncomfortable. It even made her skin a bit irritated due to the sweat just sitting there on her skin. I do know you can just get the nipple pasties or whatever they call them if that is what you are worried about.

What about a longline bra? My dress had a built in corset with underwire stays in the front. I never wore a strapless bra or had extra cups sewn in. Looking back, I could have had cups sewn in, but everything was fine. My dress required a few tightening/adjustments throughout the night, but as long as the was done, everything stayed in well.
  • I mostly don't want to get cups sewn in because I'm not getting any more alterations done and I don't want to haul it in to the seamstress again. It's partially being lazy, partially worrying that the more I touch it before the wedding the more likely it is to get dirty or get pulls in the lace.

Mine also has a built in corset with underwire, and the bodice is thick so I'm not worried about nips or anything like that, I guess I just felt like I should have something. I think I'll try the dress on for a while without anything under it, hopefully that will work. That would be my ideal, so I don't have anything to worry about..

    Thanks ladies! Happy holidays..

  • Yeah, mine was a little hard to sit down in, but I just had to flatten it out and sit really straight. Thankfully my sister/MOH helped me with that. I liked the corset though bc it definitely made my tummy flatter in our wedding pics.
  • If you're determined to use an adhesive bra, I would recommend the nu bra.  I got mine off Amazon.  I wouldn't wear it under my wedding gown, but it work lovely under a convertible dress :-)

  • I agree with stagemanager i wouldnt recomend adhesive bras for a wedding because there really uncomfortable. If you are small chested you can go braless with just some nipple covers, try it that way and see how you like it. If your big chested you can wear a strapless bra... a really good one is http://www.victoriassecret.com/ss/Satellite?ProductID=1265360928724&c=Page&cid=1289999059817&pagename=vsdWrapper
it gives you really good support and you dont have to worry about pulling it up throughout the night
