new dress with less than 5 months to go

i changed my mind about my wedding dress becuase i thought my grandma wore it on her wedding day, but i just found out she didn't.  so i'm looking for a new dress and i found one on david's bridal.

how do you think that will look for a Canadian October wedding? it's cold, may be rainy adn windy and the leaves change colour.  We are having a church ceremony follwed by a casual barn reception. our 'theme' is casual, rustic, vintage.

Yeah, it's so pretty.  My mom said it looks like a slip...
  • I'm also a Canadian bride getting married in October. Since the ceremony and reception are going to be indoors, you have nothing to worry about. Just look for a stylish cover up option for getting from the church to the barn, but then again you may not even be outside long enough.

  • also, just out of curiosity, do you have a picture of your grandmother's dress? Are you changing your mind because you don't like it, or because you're sad it wasn't what she wore? (sorry to be nosy I'm just a little confused)

Jenn: I had 2 pictures of my grandma in her dress on her wedding day.  I thought the dress my mom had was the one in the picture...I wanted to wear it becuase it would be really special to wear the same dress.  Just the other day I was looking more closely at the picture and I realzed it's not the same. There are certain key features that are different.
It's still a lovely dress but the whole point of wearing it was because my grandma wore it.
But it;s not my dream dress, so now that the sentimental value is gone, I don't want to wear it.

Here is a pic of me in the dress after it's been altered.
  • I think that the DB dress would be adorable for a more casual wedding...and since you are doing sort of rustic and with a country/barn feel, there are probably a lot of wicked cute, homey wrap or cover up options. You should check out etsy.com and see if you can find something that you like that has the vibe you are going for :)

I'm still trolling the internet for dresses similar to this one and I found THE BEST one ever.

I'd still do a cute, rustic, maybe faux fur wrap or something.  this dress is not too pricey and a local store can have it by the end of August!
