Gifts for Parents

What did you do for parent gifts?  We are thinking of making albums for our parents once we get our DVD after the wedding. Would you consider that a gift?

For my parents, I plan on making them an old fashion matted album (my Mom HATES the digital albums) and also giving them a copy of the wedding DVD.

I imagine we will also give them something else seeing as they are paying for 2/3 of the wedding. I think maybe a weekend in ME at a hotel or something like that...their 25th anniversary is the month before our wedding.

As for FI's parents, they are not as sentimental as my parents (or just my mom really haha) so I know we will not be giving them a copy of the wedding DVD. But I think I will do an album for them with pictures of their family. And maybe a gift certificate to a nice restaurant because they go out to eat often. And they are paying for the RD....

I think the albums are a nice idea, but it might also be nice to have a little something to give to them at the rehersal dinner. 

I think we are also going to get my parents a weekend away as they are paying for almost the entire wedding.  His parents gift will be something smaller, but we haven't decided yet.

We have 4 sets of parents thanks to divorce. We are doing a 3 photo frame with an engagement pic, in the middle a solo pick of us (me for my parents, Fi for his) that we had done during our e-pics and a blank space for a wedding photo. We are also getting photo albums done for them after the wedding.

For My Mom who has done all of our leg work in NH and acted as our wedding planner, we are giving her and my step-dad a gift certificate for a B &B to get away after the wedding.

Thanks, girls! I think we'll do a gift card for each set and then in the card write that we'll also be making them an album from the wedding. I took a look at our photographer's contract again last night and noticed that we pre-ordered 3 8x10 pictures (one for us and one for each set of parents)...Yay for another gift I didn't know existed, hahah!

We are doing a nice frame for a wedding picture in it for each of them plus a gift certificate to Simon Pearce for each of them.  We are also presenting them with special cakes at the reception when we do our cake cutting--his parents both turn 50 right before the wedding, and my parents will be celebrating their 30th anniversary a couple of weeks before.  We thought it would be nice to honor their celebrations too.
