Anxious...need help!!

I'm not getting married until NEXT June (2011) and I have NO IDEA when the right time is to start trying/pick out my dress or have my bridesmaids start trying/pick out their dresses.

I would personally say wait for everything! I know it's incredibly hard, but you're still over a year out. Styles will change and, unfortunately, friends might too. I would say at a year out start looking for YOUR dress as they can take months to come in, and then when you've found yours, start looking for your bms. New collections will come out and something that you might love now, you might hate later, or just find something so much better. Again, I know it's hard as your probably want to start planning now, but maybe make an inspiration board/binder with colors/styles/ideas that you like so when it is time, you really do know what you want. I think that looking at dresses now is okay, although I wouldn't purchase your dress until about 10 months out (or depending on the manufactures shipping time).  Just remember if you start looking now and you purchase, I can 95% guarantee you that you will want a completely different dress.

I bought my dress 15 months before the wedding and never wanted a different dress. There is nothing wrong with going shopping now and if you feel like you've found the one, go back a few weeks later and try it on again. If it's still the one, there's no harm in buying a little over a year before your wedding. Besides, I ordered my dress on 8/31/08 and it wasn't in until mid-June of 2009.
