Gray tux / suit

Hey ladies - could you please help me find some pictures of suits / tuxes with no tie or vest? We are going for a casual look - jacket and white button-down shirt, and we want to do a light gray. I am searching and coming up with zilch!!!

Re: Gray tux / suit

  • If you're going for a more casual look, I'd go with a suit instead of a tux.

My DH and the groomsmen wore grey tuxes at our wedding. The groomsmen wore black skinny ties. H wore a silver vest and tie to standout against the groomsmen.

The below photo is what they looked like, but with the groomsmen on the left, I've painted white over his tie. (Apologies for my poor photoshopping) Maybe that will help you a little?

  • Suits look weird (unfinished) without a tie, IMO. Could you do khakis+button-down+tie+jacket for a more casual look than a suit? If you're not going to have ties, I really think you should also skip the jacket. Or else do ties without a jacket instead of the other way round.

  • If you're going for a casual look, don't wear a tux.  A tux can never be casual, it is very formal evening wear.  I think a suit without a tie looks good -- you see it all the time.  What looks unfinished to me is a shirt and tie without a jacket.
  • Yeah, I think the tux is out anyway, we are leaning towards the suit. Peavy - I agree I don't like the shirt and tie and no jacket - at least not for the wedding party. The funny thing is I am trying to keep my mouth shut, since my FI teases me that he didn't pick out what I was wearing. But he definitely needs someone to give him options and I know he wants to be more casual. I am totally fine with that.
