accessory for dress?

For my reception, I am changing into a basic dress. My seamstress is expanding the fabric at the waist to be thicker (3 inches). Do you think I need to add some sparkle to the dress to jazz it up? I was thinking some type of applique or brooch. Opinions please!

I think the dress looks nice, maybe you can add bold shoes or jewelry that match your colors.  That could be sparkly and fun.
