About three weeks ago I scheduled an appointment for this Saturday to try on dresses. 
I just got an e-mail today saying that their $99 sale starts on Saturday.  I have a feeling that it is going to be really busy because it is the first day of the sale and a Saturday. 
Has anyone had experience going during the $99 sale?

Thanks everyone for your responses.  Unfortunately I am not able to go during the week.  My mom and MOH live about 4 hours away and I'd like to have them there with me.

Agreed they run these salse all the time, I wouldn't worry about it you have an appt so you'll have a sales associate dedicated to you, just know that they  usually work with 2 people at the same time.

I bought my dress during a $99 sale. I didn't get a $99 dress, but mine was $150 off. I didn't experience anything out of the norm during the sale. Just remember to take the appointment for what it is - at a discount bridal store. Don't go with super high expectations and you won't be disappointed.

I guess it might depend on where you are (like big city versus smaller area), but I know for me I was SO thankful that I made an appointment.  I went to the DB in Syracuse on a Saturday and it was far more insane than I could have ever imagined.  Girls were lining up outside the door before they even opened.  I was assigned to a consultant who was AWESOME.  But had I not made an appointment, it would have been crazy.  Once I actually got in the doors, I heard one of the employees tell someone, "well, we're only helping those with appointments right now."  yikes!  If you don't mind doing things yourself, I'm sure you'll be fine, but I unfortunately had to go alone, so making an appointment was a really good thing.  Good luck!
