Alaun By Design

I know there were some girls on here that used Alaun by Design....

I am very interested in working with them, I had emailed them in January and they said I could call them to discuss options and such but I haven't yet because I have been doing other things....

Can you tell me what it was like working with them? Did you just call them up saying I want X invitations or did they talk about different products with you? Did you have to make a phone appointment?

I have a little bit of a phone phobia haha so I would like to know what to expect if possible...

I hate the phone also, but LOVED working with Alaun by Design!
definitely order samples of the colors and know what you want when you're ready to call: invite style, fonts, colors, materials, wording, etc.  (you can actually use any wording you want, you'll email them the exact wording you want after the initial phone call)

Merissa was amazing at guiding me through the process!  I even freaked half-way through, and had to call back the next day to finish my order.

No need for appointments.  And, they'll give you a few extra invitations than what you order...  I rounded up and am left with a ton extra...

    thanks Mel!
When on the phone I am totally the  "umm umm yea uhh yea no uh huh " person lol

I have not ordered samples/swatches I should probably do that...I ordered from so many places  thought I had form Alaun too but I havent lol

Now this may be a stupid question but....how do you order swatches/samples? over the phone? I am not seeing anything on their site ....

I can't even get through ordering pizza on the phone, I'm THAT guy.  Embarassed
On their website, they have the FAQ page - #16 is about ordering swatches:

Do you send swatches of the cardstock and ribbons you carry?

Yes, we do and they are $2.00 per request.  We carry thousands of cardstocks, ribbons, embellishments, etc....  We are unable to display them all on our website.  Contact us with your colors and we would be more than happy to send you swatches.

I don't recall paying for my swatches, but having them was a huge help. I believe I called and asked for their red options.  I feel like they used to have some of the colors on their website to help narrow it down, but I don't see that anymore.

I used a version of the "Casual" style, and they let me tweak the sizes so I wouldn't have to pay extra postage for square invites.  They also let me put the reception info on the invite itself, instead of making me order additional "reception cards".

I am a little late here but I LOVED working with them as well. I did have to make a phone appointment because they were coming upon their busy season. Merissa was AWESOME. I can;t say enough about how great she was.
