Lost my wedding oomph... Pregnancy update...

I have been so gung-ho about the wedding for over a year and while I'm still so excited to get married, I don't really care so much about the wedding since I found out I'm pregnant. I'm so excited and I feel like an ass that I made such a big deal out of this for so long and now I'm so non-commital.

Anyway, on to baby news. So I still didn't know how far along I was and on Monday I began having a really bad pain in my left side and while I was thinking it was probably just a muscle, I went to the ER to have it checked out. They couldn't do much so late so they sent me in for an ultrasound the next day. Boy was I surprised. I expected to be roughly 6-8 weeks, but for the first time in my life I am where I am supposed to be with my body. So I was one day shy of 15 weeks along at the ultrasound. We're due September 26!!! We don't know what it is, but we should be finding out in the next month.

Here's our little bean, only not so little anymore. So surprisingly, I missed the entire 1st trimester. I'm so excited to find out what we're having! I'd really be fine not knowing, but I wouldn't be fine not shopping! And all the unisex stuff is boring. So here's the update I promised and I'll try to be around more! Take care :)

  • Congratulations, a wedding is very exciting, but i have had 2 children from my first marriage and can tell you that having a child is the best felling on earth! Just wait till your little bean starts to move around and lets you know that they are in there! That a feeling that you can not be expressed ny words.
  • Yay! That's awesome that you are so far along.  Don't worry about the wedding it will all fall into place.  I'm kind of out of wedding steam as well at the moment, I think the 3 month mark will change that.

I hope you made a doctor appt asap that is the most crucial trimester for development.  Not to be mean but how did you not know you were pregnant for 15 weeks?  Did you still continue to get your period?

  • Very exciting!  Glad you got some more information!  Congratulations!  That will be a nice time of year to have a baby bc hopeully it wont be freezing outside yet!  I wouldnt stress too much about not seeing a doctor, just get in as soon as you can.  They normally dont see you until you are are 10 - 12 weeks anyway unless something seems to be wrong.  I am not one who can wait to find out the sex either!  I had to know with both of my girls so I could shop and plan!  Having a baby is one of the most amazing things you will ever do in your life.  I cant wait to have another!  My only advice...hire a birth doula, meet some midwives (they deliver in hospitals too!) & take a childbirth education class somewhere other than your local hospital!  Seriously, you wont regret it!

I made an appointment, but they weren't extremely concerned with getting me in so I don't go to see the OB for the first time until tomorrow. I saw the wellness nurse last week and she just went over do's and don'ts.

Also, I was not getting my period, but I'm extremely irregular. The last time frame between periods was 9 weeks, so it really didn't occur to me that I could be pregnant, besides we have been trying to conceive since August 2010 so I figured I would have to get a work-up to figure out if something was wrong.
