Maneuvering Gloves

So I was wondering about gloves. If I wore some with my wedding dress when do you take them off/ put them on? I mean if you walked down the aisle with them does the groom slip the ring over the glove or do you take them off when you get to the podium or before the rings are exchanged? Or are gloves just worn at the reception? No clue here. TIA!

Re: Maneuvering Gloves

  • As far as I know, actual bridal gloves have the ring finger with a slit on the underside that you can slip that finger out.

If you're considering gloves other than that (vintage, lace, etc), I would guess you'd take them off and pass to your MOH when it's time for the rings.
  • I would take them off when it was time to exchange rings.  General glove etiquette (according to my mother at least) is that you do not wear gloves while eating or drinking, so you would probably not wear them for the majority of the reception.

  • :) Makes sense! But sounds like more trouble than it's worth. I think I'll bare-hand it. Thanks ladies!!
