Wearing engagement ring?

Am I supposed to have my rings soldered before or after our wedding. I would feel weird not having my engagement ring at the rehearsal. I'm not sure what to do

Re: Wearing engagement ring?

  • You could always not solder your rings?

I am not having mine soldered, but I think others just don't wear the ring to the rehersal. I don't think it's s huge deal
  • If you will feel weird not having the e-ring then wait until after the wedding.

But like PP said you don't have to solder the rings together at all.  I didn't because some days I like just wearing my wedding band and other days I like wearing both.

  • Mine aren't soldered.  Sometimes I wear both rings, and sometimes I just wear my band and not the e-ring.

If you want to get them soldered, then I would just wait until after the wedding.

  • I didn't have mine soldered, I like options.

One of my bridesmaids is getting married in October, and she already has her band & e-ring soldered. NBD.
  • I agree with PPs, if you really want them soldered do it after the wedding. I'm not soldering mine. My band is such that I can't wear it without the ering b/c it would look ridiculous. I don't really see much difference between putting on one ring in the morning compared to two.

We are considering getting a plain band for me to wear on teh days I don't feel like wearing my ering or for travelling, going to the beach, etc.

  • Mine aren't soldered. I don't like the concept for me. On the wedding day I just wore my e-ring normally, and he put my wedding band on my finger as normal. I know it's suppose to be "swapped" but whatevs :P

I did the same. Afterwards someone made a comment that I was supposed to wear my e-ring on my right hand and let him slip the wedding band on, but I have another senitmental ring I wear on my right hand 100% of the time, so that wouldn't have worked anyways.

</div><div>I wore my e-ring on my left ring finger during the ceremony, he slipped the wedding band on second, and then I swapped later in the day. I'm sure our marriage is just as valid as anyone else's:-)

  • It's all up to you. My band had to fit with my e-ring in these little nothes and so I soldered it before the wedding so that it would match up nicely at the wedding. But the hard part was not having it for a few days before the wedding and once I got it back I didn't wear it until the ceremony. But now I am so happy I did it before the wedding so that I didn't have to go without my rings after the wedding. (kay takes it for a few days to do)
