DJ Pricing?

Hi Ladies - 

I have no idea how much it's going to cost to hire a DJ in this area. Can anyone give me an idea of what they're paying for the DJ so I can work it into our budget?

We're paying $949 for 6 hours.

$2,500  4-5hrs.  Music is at the top of our list with food.  We've been to 3 weddings with him and refuse to go with anyone else.  So be sides food this is our most expensive part.  But worth every penny.

We also gave up on our dream venue to save $.

We went with "Get Down Tonight Entertainment", their office is in Salem, NH.  They had a variety of DJ's at different price points.  We decided to go with one of the less expensive DJ's there, (that we met at one of the Bridal Shows).  His name is Drew Rissler and it cost us $800 for 5 hours.

We booked with Main Event DJ's and are paying $850 for 5 hours but they offer DJ's from about $400 - $1200 for 5 hours.

We are using Get Down Tonight out of Salem and they have a wide range of DJs and pricing.  We were able to go in and watch videos put together on each of them.  We went with Nick and are paying $895 for 5 hours

My FBIL has the equipment at his work, so we are going to make a list of songs and put it on shuffle. When ever we need to talk, we will just pause it and whatnot.

Main Event - Kevin Sawler (THE BOMB)- I think that we paid around $1100, but he did the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (plus brought an assistant) from  6:00p-1:00a.  (New Years Eve wedding)
