Personalized thank you cards?

To all you married Knotties:

What did you do for Thank You cards? Did you use a generic one or did you get them personalized with wedding pictures?

And, if you got them personalize - where did you get them made?

TIA!

I opted to use thank you cards that just had our names and date on the front. You could get those made at Vistaprint. Mine came with my invites.

I inserted a wallet sized picture in each thank you card. My thought behind this was that as beautiful as picture thank you cards are - it is likely that whoever you send them to will eventually recycle or throw them away. However, every single person I sent a thank you to still (to my knowledge) has our picture on their fridge.

DH and I JUST threw a picture away from a couple who got married 4 years ago that was on our fridge.

I did a photo card and have gotten many compliments on them. I had painted a 'Just Married' sign and on the other side had 'Thank You' so I really like the idea of making the 'Thank You' as our card. We ordered ours through Shutterfly. There was a mistake with the order and I had NO problems with exchanging the "notecards" (which were literally just 5x7 prints) for the FOLDED notecards (didn't realize there was a difference). They ended up being bigger than I'd expected but I wasn't about to switch them again, so we wrote a little bigger is all. LoL

We just did Thank You cards with our first names and last initial. Printed in the same fonts as the invitation. We did this because we knew we would end up with a bunch extra (you have to order 250 when you only need 210 or something like that) and that way we can use them as thank you cards forever. We ended up ordered 50 extra on top of the extra we already would have had and now we have thank you cards we can use for any gift.

Edit - mine do not have the date on them. I just checked. Mine are like MrsV's. DH actually just used one for a thank you card. Laughing

I got these beautiful embossed cards with our first names on them at our Shower.  They were simple cards with no fold.  I wrote a note on that and included a one of my favorite photo's from the wedding.  On Wednesdays (I think) Ritz camera will print 3X5 prints for $.03 each (order online pick up in store)

I used the Vistaprint freebies, including a free photo upload, and made my own photo cards there using the postcards. I have gotten a ton of compliments, and have seen people hanging them up on frames and on their fridges as well... I like the idea of incorporating a photo somehow -- if either a photo card or like Gabs did!

There's a picture in my planning bio if you want to take a look.. it's under "ALL THINGS PAPER" at the bottom right... click on the box and the photo will get bigger!

We bought a box of 50 thank you cards from Target for like $10 and then I got wallets made from Snapfish.... I haven't finished them yet, but I think it'll be good.

We ordered emobossed thank you cards with a starfish and "The Last Names".  We had 100 of them embossed with our return address on the envelope and 50 made without our return address as we knew we would be moving within the year and the extras will be used for general thank you cards.

We did what Ninny did with hers, purchased 5x7 folded notecards from Shutterfly with a picture of us holding a Thank You sign. Apparently I forgot how big a 5x7 card was when I was ordering them Laughing but I write really big anyways so it should be fine. lol

I ordered photos from Snapfish with us and our "Thank You" sign and attatched them with ribbon to a blank pink card.
