yea, the DIY invitations. it was cheaper for me to just order them already printed and it was one less thing I had to stress about.

Mike had sticker shock, but I was pretty well prepared. Our families were pretty well prepared too. I think cakes in general are ridiculously overpriced though.

I was actually pleasantly surprised some things were less than they were considering Martha's Vineyard is so self contained they can pretty much do what they want in pricing.

Our location, its a house we are renting for a week but still its $5800 (it would have been $3000 if it wasnt a wedding) i wish i wasnt so honest and i woulda lied.....

But yeh invite prices are ridiculous, im lucky my sister made all mine for me, shes super crafty

Wow, for $7-10/each they better all be letterpressed, embossed, hand assembled and personally licked shut. I didn't spend more than $4 each on my DIY pocketfolds and that was with purchasing all the supplies that I would need starting from nothing.

Sticker shock for me will be the food. The venue requires that we pay $45pp with 55 people minimum or else we pay for the room, linens and all of the plates and flatwear items. It will be either that or the final total on all the money I've spent on liquor to keep myself nice and sane throughout the planning process.
